Mercatus is excited to welcome Jacques Besborodco to its growing team. Jacques brings a wealth of expertise in fund services, coming to Mercatus from Intertrust Group and prior to that IQ/EQ. We recently sat down with him to learn more about his new role, what brought him to Mercatus, and his thoughts on the future of private market technology.
What is your role at Mercatus?
I joined Mercatus as a sales executive in order to help the team accelerate the growth of our client base by building meaningful and lasting relationships.
What is your career background / story?
It is hard to put my story in three sentences but my core focus has always been to add value to my colleagues, company and to my clients. I’ve been working in fund services for over eight years now and I have realized that what has made me successful up to this point has always been helping those around me get to the next level. I intend to do the same thing here.
In your past role(s) what are some unmet needs from private market investors around data management technology?
I believe private market investors are desperately looking for a centralized investment data management platform where their entire investment cycle is remote and at their fingertips. We’ve been hearing about the importance of data for years; Mercatus was able to act on that and bring it all into fruition. Our cloud-based analytic technology empowers stakeholders by giving them the stability they need in order to navigate the turbulent waters of the investment world.
What excites you about Mercatus?
We are currently living in an environment where investors are cautiously optimistic. It’s exciting that Mercatus has a powerful platform that allows these investors to make crucial investment decisions based on concise data in order to generate and accelerate the returns on their investments. Mercatus has a direct impact on the strategic daily resolution of many investors allowing them to make informed and precise moves. Mercatus is not only a platform, but an entire ecosystem.
How do you see private market technology evolving over the next decade?
I believe one of the many impacts of the Covid crisis was the acceleration of digital transformation by years if not decades. Investors now more than ever understand the need of a cloud-based analytic technology in order to help them make informed and time sensitive investments. Over the next decade we will witness the growth of climate resilient tools that will allow the investor to always be one step ahead.
What is your favorite / go-to Karaoke song?
Definitely going with Bonnie Tyler on this one. Total Eclipse of the Heart is a classic.
