Mercatus is excited to welcome Griffin Giordano to its growing team. Griffin comes to us from J.P. Morgan Chase, where he held a number of positions in product development. He previously worked at Morgan Stanley on the fixed income derivatives desk. We recently sat down with him to learn more about his new role, what brought him to Mercatus, and his thoughts on the future of private market technology.
What is your role at Mercatus and what are you hoping to accomplish?
I’m a Program Manager, and I hope to assist our client base in any way possible with our amazing product and establish key referenceable clients as a result.
What is your career background?
I have 8 years of financial services industry experience starting out as a trading assistant at Morgan Stanley with its Fixed Income desk, and moving to J.P. Morgan where I worked with our client base to establish increased efficiency and transparency through key third-party fintech vendors.
In your past role(s) what are some unmet needs from private market investors around data management technology?
While I have worked with only public market firms, the same data principles apply in the private markets. In the last two years I developed a product that centralized our buyside client transactional data to one location, where our clients and internal operations teams can communicate directly. This offered a streamlined exception and fails management process that led to over 50% efficiency gains and a 25% decrease in queries.
What excites you about Mercatus?
Mercatus is a key disruptor in moving the private market participants into the new age of data centralization, data transparency, and user friendly functionality within the platform. This is an exciting time to be part of this great team as we lead the way into the future of private market data needs.
How do you see private market technology evolving over the next decade?
I see this industry moving toward continued real-time data transparency, streamlined data management and aggregation. In 10 years I see the private market technology becoming a la carte data streaming capabilities.
